One may associate pure white with simplicity; or perhaps it connotes chastity or modesty. However, MulMul’s achromatic loungewear collection conveys anything but a boring experience.
Each silhouette in the collection is characterized by detailed stitching, beadwork and white-on-white embroidery. The collections are designed in New York and manufactured in India, made from luxurious habotai silk and supima and mulmul cottons. Therefore, each milky white selection is feminine and light, without the extravagant frills often associated with luxury loungewear and sleepwear. The intricate details incorporated into the MulMul collection convey a certain sophistication and elegance.
It’s time to upgrade your loungewear drawer! These fine pieces are for the grown-up woman who appreciates quality and detail. Ditch the men’s v-neck undershirts and sweatpants in favor of whispy white nightgowns and paper-thin caftans.
MulMul was created and founded by Puja Codha, who holds a Master’s in Fine Arts from New York University. “I am inspired by and naturally drawn to beautiful things that are well-made; things that in their simplicity, speak directly to the soul,” she says. “Mulmul is essentially a personal expression and confluence of my passions: art, photography, theater, fashion, design, and spiritual well-being. I feel that it is my calling to restore beauty to the world, a calling which to me, represents the very essence of life.”
Puja created her capsule collection primarily from mulmul (hence the brand name), fine, semisheer cotton muslin often referred to as “woven wind.” Understanding that fashion trends swell and fade, her collections are always designed as timeless pieces with subtle nuances.
A pleasant bonus to this feather-light collection is that MulMul produces with sustainability in mind. During the development phase of each collection, materials are sourced consciously, with the company seeking certified organic cottons whenever possible. MulMul also ensures that all of its facilities in India are places where workers are treated well and paid fairly.
MulMul loungewear represents more than simply clothes to be worn during those ever shrinking moments of down time. “It celebrates a life of balance, harmony and well-being,” says Puja. The idea is to treat yourself well. The brand invites its customers to “take time out for a bit of everyday luxury.”
The line currently includes tops, bottoms, dresses, accessories and jewelry. MulMul is stocked at select boutiques all over the world and can be purchased directly through their online store.
